The season opening event for the JGTA in 2019-2020 is The Southern Junior, and this time, it is being held at Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club in Zhuhai, China.
Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club, host venue of The Southern Junior, is one of Southern China’s gems of golf venues and is dedicated to hosting elite events for juniors in the Asia-Pacific Region.
As an international championship level course, Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club Bay is full of unique challenges. With its unique geographical advantages, first-class course facilities and high-quality service quality, it attracts many players in the industry.
The club is designed by Colin Montgomery and was opened in 2003. It features many unique water hazards, strategically shaped bunkers and an unpredictable sea breeze. In addition, it boasts a sandy seaside landscape, which fully shows the charming style of a traditional Scottish course.
Since its’ opening in 2003, the club has been honored as one of Southern China’s elite golf venues. It was named “China’s Best New Club” in 2003, in 2007, it was named “Top Ten Club in South China” and in 2012 and 2015 it was named “The Most Popular South Course”.
In addition, the club has hosted two China Tour events, three National Women’s Professional Classics, and has served as a base for the China Golf Association Youth Training Center.

The club is located a short 30-minute drive from Downtown Zhuhai, and 45 minutes from the Macau-Zhuhai border. The course is easily accessible from both the Macau-Zhuhai Border and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport.
