National Golf Country Club - Miaoli County, Taiwan
This 1995 Yuyu Yang (Yang Yingfeng) design’ed National Golf Country Club is a 7,014 yard par 72 course. Renovations of the course have been made by Ronald Fream. The course features Bermuda grass fairways and Champion Dwarf Bermuda grass greens.
The first hole that is sure to test players is the par 5 7th hole. The 7th plays 555 yards long for the
Boy’s Division. A downhill tee-shot leads to an up-hill approach. Finding yourself in the wrong section of the fairway off of the tee can make this hole difficult.
Another spotlight hole is the par 4 15th hole. The 15th plays 426 yards for the Boy’s Division. The fairway ends at 280 yards so playing the correct club off of the tee is essential. Approach shots will be played over a valley.
The most difficult hole on the course is the par 4 6th. The 6th will play 422 yards for the Boy’s Division. Tee shots hit left of center may trickle into a pond at 270 yards. The pond runs the length of the hole and approach shots will be hit up-hill.
Which top-ranked junior competitors will come out on top and claim the JGTA Taiwan Junior Championship title on this course?
