JGTA Brings in the New Year with its Second Event in Bogor Indonesia
The Junior Golf Tour of Asia is pleased to announce that a new event will be held in Bogor, Indonesia – the JGTA Bogor Junior Championship Hosted by Sentul Highlands Golf Club. This 54-hole stroke-play event will be held January 2-4, 2019 and will feature Asia’s top-ranked junior golfers.
As this is the second event on the JGTA’s 2018-2019 schedule, player’s performances will play a crucial role in gaining a lead in the Junior Order of Merit Rankings early in the season. Statistically, players who competed in the first two events of the JGTA season in 2017-2018 gained five times as many AJGA PBE Stars as those who competed later in the inaugural JGTA season.
The JGTA Bogor Junior Championship hosted by Sentul Highlands Golf Club is the first event in history to be sanctioned by the JGTA in Bogor. Additionally, the event is sanctioned by the Persatuan Golf Indonesia (Indonesia Golf Association) and marks the first International Junior event to be held in Bogor.
“We like to thank Sentul Highlands Golf Club for hosting the event. The players will enjoy the challenging course and the views around it. This is the JGTA’s first ever event in Bogor, Indonesia and we hope we can help promote Sentul and Bogor Tourism as we will have participants from over 12 different countries from around the world.” – Kyi Hla Han, Tour Founding Director, JGTA
Sentul Highlands Golf Club, the host venue of the event, was designed by Gary Player in 1997. This beautiful design boasting mountain backdrops and sweeping vistas will challenge Asia’s best. The course plays to a par of 72.
“We are proud to be the host venue of JGTA Bogor Junior Championship and look forward to having the next generation of prominent junior golfers compete at our facilities. The JGTA is changing the landscape of junior golf and we are happy to work alongside of them, helping junior golfers further their careers.
