Players to Watch - Top Players Set to Compete
The competition will be strong for the JGTA Taiwan Junior Championship, taking place January 2-5, 2018 at NGCC in Miaoli County, Taiwan. Competitors are set to compete from a total of nine different countries. Let’s take a look at the field:
Boys
Players from seven different countries are set to compete in the Boy’s Division at the JGTA Taiwan Junior Championship. The Boy’s Division features three players that have fully exempt AJGA Status and two players that are in the Top 200 AJGA Rolex Rankings. The field has earned eight AJGA Top 10 finishes and six AJGA Top 5 finishes.
Players to watch include Junyi Tang (2021) of Beijing, China, and Yin Ho Yue (2018) of Shanghai, China. Tang finished T4 at the Justin Rose, ACDS Junior All-Star Championship, and has fully exempt AJGA Status. Yue is committed to the University of Oregon.
The Boy’s Division holds a total of 156 AJGA PBE Stars.
Girls
Players from seven different countries are set to compete in the Girls Division. Two players have fully exempt AJGA Status. Three players are in the top 200 AJGA Rolex Rankings and six players are in the top 500. The field has earned 21 AJGA Top 10’s and 11 AJGA Top 5’s.
Players to watch include Deng Jingfan (2020) of Shanghai, China, and Camille Boyd (2020) of Yorba Linda, California. Deng won the AJGA Memorial (2017) and is committed to the University of Washington. Boyd won the inaugural JGTA Bintan Lagoon Junior Championship presented by dwell Student Living, shooting 72-74-72 for a tournament total of 218.
The Girl’s Division holds a total of 157 AJGA PBE Stars.
