Multiple players with top-5 AJGA finishes are competing in the event, including one AJGA Champion, Virginie Ding (2020) of Hong Kong, who took home a first-place finish in the AJGA Junior All-Star at Rush Creek in 2016.
Playing in her first AJGA event at the time, Ding won the Girls Division after a final-round score of 1-over-par 73. Ding had nine birdies on the week for a tournament total of 4-over-par 220.
“There are a lot of talented players in this event who are competitive at the highest levels of junior golf, and they have the AJGA results to prove it.”, said CJ Gatto, member of the JGTA Tour Committee, “there are some players who are already being actively considered by College coaches. We should be in store for some good battles out there over the next couple days, it will be fun to watch.”
The second of three rounds takes place tomorrow morning at Bintan Lagoon Resort.
