Jui Shen Lee and Jiabao Song in the Lead

Two events in at Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club and The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip and the Junior Order of Merit has officially been updated. Results after these events set the pace for what’s to come the rest of the year – players trying to maintain or improve their rankings throughout the season. With more and more events being added to the JGTA’s schedule for this season, this gives players more and more opportunities to build a ranking and to try to nudge their ranking just a little bit further to earn AJGA PBE Status, through their final position on the Junior Order of Merit. With just two events in the books, The Southern Junior and the Junior Aspirations at The Bluffs, here is how the Junior Order of Merit rankings have shaken down:

Jiabao Song (2022) of Shanghai, China, the Girl’s Division Champion of The Southern Junior, takes the top spot at this moment. Historically on the JGTA, the girl’s winner of the first event of the season has gone on to win the Junior Order of Merit and be named Player of the Year. In 2017-2018 it was University of Washington commit Camille Boyd (2020) of Yorba Linda Calif., USA and in 2018-2019 it was Amy Gao (2021) of Shanghai, China.

Trailing Song is Junior Aspirations at The Bluffs Champion Samantha Marie Dizon (2022) of Marikina City, Philippines. Just behind Dizon is Chih Hsuan (Jenny) Chang (2021) of Taipei, Chinese Taipei with a sixth-place finish in The Southern Junior and a second-place finish at the Junior Aspirations at The Bluffs.

Jui Shen Lee (2020) of Yunlin, Chinese Taipei leads the pack in the Boy’s Division with his win in The Southern Junior in a one-hole sudden-death playoff and his fifth-place finish in the Junior Aspirations at The Bluffs.

Just behind Lee is Aksel Moe (2023) of Richville, Minnesota, USA after his outstanding victory at the Junior Aspirations at The Bluffs. Trailing Moe is Kai-Chun Hsu (2021) of Taipei, Chinese Taipei.

If any champions thus far this season were to win again, it would be a daunting chase to catch them and overtake the top ranking.
